Hello! :wave2:

It was so great to find these forums! I was fortunate to be born the year the Magic Kingdom opened and grew up in Orlando. Disney is certainly nostalgic for me.

Our family - Dad, three boys 16, 9, & 6 and myself (Mom) - has taken several trips to the resorts, but our upcoming one will be our first stay at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge. I was hoping someone could share about the parking. Is it the same for the Lodge as the Villas or is there seperate parking for the Villas? Also, do you check-in at the Lodge or is their a seperate check-in for the Villas?

Thank you!

Parking and Check-in are the same for the WL and the VWL

Welcome to the Dis boards. WL and VWL are our personal favorites of the Disney resorts.

Have a good time. :thumbsup2

Another "VWL is our favorite" poster here  . Enjoy!

Congratulations and welcome!

I Cant wait till Feb. 07.....This will be our first trip to VWL... we got a 1 bedroom..I am so looking forward to this trip!

I never thought I would plan vacations this far ahead...I love DVC

Don't forget that you can use valet parking if you wish. It's free for DVC members(but it's nice to give the guys a couple of bucks) :thumbsup2

You're going to love the villas!

Make sure you bring something along for the fifth member of the family to sleep on. DVC doesn't provide rollaways. And you'll need to purchase an extra towel pack or bring some from home since you'll only have four bath towels, two hand towels and four face cloths.

We're headed to VWL for Thanksgiving. It's one of our three home resorts.

You can purchase an extra set of towels to use while you stay. It is a minimal amount and is a great thing to have. We do this everytime, so we don't have to worry about washing each day if we don't want to!

By the way, we are lodge lovers too! We will be there in Feb '07!! :lovestruc

I'll be there next Monday!!!!!!! Can't wait - 4 nights in a 2BR VWL, then two nights at the Poly (our first Poly stay!!) Keep your fingers crossed - it looks like it might be marginally cooler next week than it has been this week!!

Just noticed, the OP didn't say what size villa they got... that was someone else that mentioned a 1-BR. If she has a 2-BR (which I hope she does), the above won't apply.

Welcome to the Dis boards!! Stayed there in May and had a great time. Still like BWV better thought.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

I should've mentioned we're staying at a studio (a 1 bdrm sounds dreamy), but the teenager won't be there. He's just too cool to vacation with us right now.

After all the posts, I'm even more excited about the trip. I didn't think that was possible!

We will be in the Villas in Jan.. This is our first stay in the Villas. We have stayed in the Lodge a number of time though. We usually stay at BWV so this was a hard sell for my hubby. "No ESPN!!! :scared1: " I guess he will live. we were just there in June with friends and the men went down to ESPN every night after we went off to relax. What fun they had! "What happens at the Boardwalk, stays at the Boardwalk!" Boys!

We stayed in VWL last Thanksgiving and are going back again this year. We absolutely loved it and it is beautifully decorated for Christmas then.

Ditto everything the other lodge lovers said! VWL is our favorite resort overall, but for the holidays we find it even more amazing. Wishing you a wonderful trip!

We are going for the first time in October in a 1 BR. I can't wait!!!
