Our wedding is coming up and I want to have all of my ducks in a row when I get there. Are you all (have you all) been tipping people there? And if so, who and how much should you tip?

Good question! I'd like to know the answer to this one too... We're getting married 4 days after you at SBP! :Pinkbounc

I didn't, but I really didn't think about it until afterwards, and realized that maybe I should have.

You should tip you officient, you can tip your musician, and I don't think wedding planners can take monetary tips (or so I have heard) but you can give them another type of gift.

I was thinking

Limo Driver
Musicians (Organist & Violinist)
Hair/Makeup
Officiant
Dress steamer

Video & photgraphy - Would you tip before you've seen the good? Thought could send something after

No idea how much though - any clues anyone?

I'm not sure of the amounts to tip, but there are plenty of books on wedding etiquette out there, and I'm sure that information would be in there.

By the way, I called my mom, and she said she took care of the tipping for me, so I feel better. I didn't ask her how much she tipped who, though.

I have thought about this and i will tip according to the service i get. Obviously if the service is outstanding i will tip more if it is average i wont tip as much, i am sure you get the general idea.
Heres a rough guide.

Co-ordinator: $50 (dont like my co-ordinator!)
Reverend: $30
Hair/ Makeup: $50 (there are four of us)
Violinist: $20
Limo: $20
Dress steamer: $10
Photographer: $30 (own company)
Videographer: $20 (own company)

I am from the UK and we tip differently so i had some time to think about it!

Wow thanks for the advice... and Congrats Jenny and MIke- maybe we will see you there while we are honeymooning :)

We had an Intimate wedding so tipping is probably different than for a Custom - a lot fewer people involved. We sent our officiant the tip afterwards, but that was my fault because I left his card in the room - oops! We mailed him the card, a picture of the three of us, and a $40 tip. That was when the officiant fee was included in the package.

DH tipped the limo driver, I have no idea how much, but I doubt more than $20.

I tipped my hairdresser, but she was my personal stylist that I'd been going to for years. Found out MIL tipped her too, so she got about a $80 tip for 3 people - but she was worth it - she booked out her whole morning for us and came all the way to WL.

It never occured to us to tip the violinist or the photographer. I think I'd want to see the pictures before I tipped, especially if you're paying and it's not part of the Disney package. I knew our EM couldn't get a cash tip. I sent a letter of thanks to her and Rosie in Disney Floral. I was going to send our EM a gift but I guess I just figured it was her job. She arrived late and didn't go "above and beyond" IMO to deserve a tip. Rosie did go above and beyond, and I kind of feel bad that I didn't send her something, but she replied to my letter of thanks and seemed genuinely touched that I remembered her that way.

The only people to tip in our situation involving the wedding was the dress/tux steamer, hair and make-up, and the officiant. We tipped the steamer and our officiant...but totally forgot to tip hair & make-up! I was so stressed and had to be out the door and dressed in 15mins! She did the best job of anyone and I wish I had tipped her!

Tip anyone who made your day perfect in the amount you feel is right.

We tipped:
Officiant 75.00
Driver 40.00
Hair - makeup 50.00
coordinator 100.00 floral arrangement with card next day
flowers and music none
photography no tip but plated dinners at reception rather than cold cuts

Thinking back I would have tipped the last three but as all weddings - there is a lot going on and you can't be 100% perfect.
