I have the opportunity to rent at BCV the exact week I have been looking for at a great price but.....it seems to be an Interval trade. The person who has the trade has never done this with a Disney property before. He seems to think he will need to keep his name on the reservation and add my family to it. I would then check in and give my credit card at check in and he would just not show up. I don't feel like this guy is trying to take me for a ride but I am trying to be safe. Has anyone had experiance doing this type of arrangment? Could he just go ahead and say we are guests nof his without his name on the actual reservation? I would love some quick help before this grat chance dissapears!

If it is an interval trade, it is against Interval International policy to rent it. That may be the problem with the names. He can not change it into your name. It isn't something I'd be comfortable with.

He might be able to do it with a guest certificate but that's the only way I can think of doing it... I've only given one away once and it was a long time ago for a wedding present.

Of course he's trying to rent it and if Disney or Interval figures that out you'll lose your reservation. I think your best bet for getting an answer to this question is to research it on the Tug board rather than here. www.tug2.net

It is illegal to rent II exchanges. I would worry that you might end up with nothing. I don't think I'd do this one if I were you.

Thanks for all your quick replies! I am a lot more nervous now. I will check out Tug but unless I find something positive I'm going to pass.

Don't take a chance on renting a II exchange. If II catches him at it, they'll lock his II account and you'll be left with nothing. It's not worth the risk.
