Is there a site on the internet to get real-time information on road conditions related to weather and accidents?

interstate and turnpike roads

I tried tripleA and PennDot, but couldn't find real-time information, just road construction.

Or is there a number to call for road conditions?

It varies from state to state. Here in Massachusetts you can call *1 from a cell phone plus there are a couple of websites. I frequently travel to Omaha, NE and they have a thing called 511.

I think your best bet would be to contact the highway departments of the various states where you will be travelling and see what they can reccomend/provide. Or pick out the major towns along your route, find their local tv affiliates and check out their websites. They usually have traffic updates there as well.

The PA Turnpike has its own website (http://www.paturnpike.com/). Travel conditions can be accessed from the homepage. You can also try a local radio station or tv news channel's website.
