Has anyone ever done this?
From what college?
Did you get wonderful/fun jobs there, or just the grunt-work ones?

I will be studying Broadcast Journalism at either Boston University or Syracuse University.
Any input?

There are many of us who have done it. If you have any specific questions about it, you can PM me. I will be glad to answer. :) The process is pretty much the same no matter what school you to go. What changes is how many credits you can for the internship depending on what school you go to and how they handle it.

In a very tiny nutshell, the jobs you get are the lowest rung on the totem pole. You can work in attractions, merchandising, custodial, food service, etc. In my internship I started out in attractions in the Magic Kingdom. I will have to say that the time I spent on my internship was amazing. I met lots of great people and had many magical moments. The quality of a time you have on the CP really depends on you.

My friend is currently doing right now and she loves it. She said that it is the best time. I plan on doing the internship as well in two years and can't wait. As far as what to expect, the jobs are nothing great. However it is more about the experience and the people that you meet. Many colleges have presentations on this, so depending on what school you attend I would check into this.

Sounds silly...but any chance of being a Disney Princess? princess:

Also, I know that often you can work your way up with things. So I was wondering if it is possible to do this in a "short" internship time.

How long do internships usually last for?

internships are more management/backstage roles. If you want to do characters, you'd have to do the College Program. There are Entertainment Management internships if you want to be around the characters.

Yah see I know in the college program there are a ton of different jobs to choose from. These include such things as the food industry, working attractions, lifeguarding, housekeeping, etc... I have talked to people that were offered jobs from the Disney company once they graduated from college but they happened to make a huge impact during their college semester. There are a couple times that you can go for. One is a semester long- either January to May or August to December. Or you can opt to go from Febuary to August or June to December. There is a website that tells all this information. It has what jobs you can do, college credit that can be earned, length of time, and how to apply.

I did the CP in Spring of 2005. I did merchandise in Fantasyland at MK. I am hoping to go down as a character performer for Fall 2006 and would like to do an entertainment MI/PI before I graduate.
