Internet Rental Car Pick Up at Disney

Can you arrange for a rental through the Internet through a rental copnay that has a WDW presence and pick it up at WDW?

There are rental car desk at Swan and the car care center @ MK. I think they are both National but I'm not 100% sure. I could never get the same rates at WDW than I do at MCO so I never picked up at either locations but some have reported getting a reasonable rates at time so I guess it depends on the season.

Alamo and National are on site, at the Dolphin and Disney's Car Care Center. I have found the rate is the same as the airport and you save the 9.8% airport fee (tax) so it is less. The Dolphin desk close about 3 PM but the CCC is open later. They will pick you up or return you to your resort.

Now with free M.E. to Disney it is almost a no brainer.

Yes, you can do this. I've done it several times with Avis, which has a desk at the Hilton.

We did this in June. I reserved a car with Alamo on the web before we left. I called the pickup number that morning and asked if we could be picked up at MGM so we could start our day there. They said they will pick you up anywhere on Disney property. So we set a 3pm pickup (great afternoon break from the park) and they took us to the car care center. Got the car and then headed back to the resort to park it. Hopped a bus back to the park to finish our day.

As you can see, we did not plan to use the car to get to the different parks. We used it for one day only to get to KSC and the beach.

The day of return, we drove to the CCC, which is by the Magic Kingdom, and returned the car at 7:30am. Then hopped a shuttle bus to the park we were going to for the day.

We saved money buy renting on site. First, no airport fee. Second, we could rent for the # of days we needed because it was not a hassle to pickup or return. Our rate was $23 a day.

I was hoping to do eactly what Jenn did in during her trip. Jen who picked you up at MGM, ALamo? Do you know if you can request picup at the CCC center when you initially make the reservation on the Internet? Then I assume later I could call as you did and request that we be picked up either at our resort or at one of the parks? Where did arrange to met them at MGM? Is there a specific palce at each park for car pickups?

Alamo is the one who picked us up. They told us what bus stop to wait at when they came to MGM. It is not the normal resort stops, but where the offsite buses go. I did not arrange the pickup prior to our trip. When I printed the Reservation, they had a number to call if you needed a pickup.
