Internet begging

Sorry, Didn't see you already posted this

This is what the site says now:

I take my safety and that of my friends and family very seriously, therefore I have removed all content from my website due to some personal threats. It's very unfortunate that there are people out there who have nothing better to do with their lives than harass other people.

This reminds me of the girl that posted a website to pay off her credit cards. She actually received enough money to pay them off if I remember right. :earseek:
OK here's mine:
We are a wonderful middle class family that would like to ask everyone to donate to help us pay off all our bills. We would like to also take a trip to Disney World. Please send us any money you can. (play sappy music in the background)
Insert picture of our family here looking pitiful.:smooth:

Think it will work????:rotfl: :rotfl: :jumping1:

Let's see, I've had two very nice, elegant weddings that cost less than $3000 each. I paid CASH for everything, because I didn't want to be paying forever for one day of my life.

DH spent a decent amount on my ring (no, not 2 months salary) but took his tax refund the following spring and paid it off.

I can't understand spending that amount of money for ONE day!

In any event, if you do a swhois on the URL, it comes up with a bogus address in Orlando and the phone number is not real (555.555.5555). Gives more credence to the hairy guy trying to sucker people, doesn't it?

Maybe they could pay for their wedding by putting their wedding night on pay per view? :p

Ohhh, good sleuthing. She must have changed it after the threats. Earlier she had her full name, address, and telephone number there. Should have gone through a company like ICDSoft that will post administrative contacts rather than her personal contact info to their database.

I think begging for money on the internet is tacky, low class, irresponsible...oh, that is unless someone wants to send some cash my way. ;)

That's all I get when I click on the link.

Yeah, she changed the website. The original site told of how how she and the BF had travelled and maxed out credit cards but wanted a nice wedding. She had a paypal link to donate to her dream wedding.

I bet she had to take all that off her website and put that notice up there because no one forked out any money. Sounds like she's trying to save face to me.

When I got married, my wedding dress came from JC Penney ($89) the maid of honor's dress was one she already had, the church cost $20 and everyone on both sides of the family pitched in and made food for a home reception and the music was a Carpenter's cassette that the neighbors brought over.

Two years later, SIL had "the dream" wedding. And through it all, DH made me repeat this mantra:

"She's no more married than we are".
"She's no more married than we are".

And did it with a little hand signal. So that when ever the party got fiesty and I was feeling a bit jealous, he would catch my eye from across the room, table whatever and do that little hand signal. It worked.

And we are now more married than she is because the marriage did not last.

There is more to marriage than the wedding, and I hope that lady on the web site learns this before it's too late.

I don't see what the problem is, in fact, just last week I saw where Disboards had over 60,000 (I think) registered users. You know, if just 13,000 or so of you would donate $1 to me, I'd finally be able to buy into DVC. Come on, how 'bout it? I'll start my DVC begging thread.

Just kidding, yes it's VERY tacky!
