Internet access is at no charge for DVC members staying on points at DVC resorts. Not sure for those renting points, but you can check when you check in. Normal access charges are $9.95 per 24 hr period and are charged to your room account.

:badpc: I tried to get on the internet while at OKW in December with my laptop, which is 1 1/2 years old. After spending about a half hour one night and an hour another night talking to Disney's tech support, they concluded that something in the Vista settings was not compatible with their network. The supervisor told me that he has Windows XP on his laptop and Vista on his desktop computer for the same reason.

So I carried my laptop the whole way from PA and was not able to use it all week. By the time I got home, it took me most of a day to clean out my e-mails and I had to be on the phone every morning with my secretary to keep my workload flowing smoothly.

So, my advice - load Windows XP on your computer before you go or be prepared to spend some time with tech support (hopefully they can help you better than they helped me.)

I always stay at a villa as a renter, and have been told that internet access is free to anyone staying in a villa on points, regardless of whether or not the guest is actually the owner. I've never been charged for internet access.

Hard wired internet access is free for anyone staying at a DVC resort on points. WiFi is available in the pool and lobby areas of the resort for $9.95 for 24 continuous hours.

I took my new laptop with Vista to BWV in October and it worked fine.
