Hi everyone
Where can you use the internet at WDW when you do not stay on property? Friends of mine are staying off site but want to print their boarding passes for the return trip. Thanks

I've always brought my laptop. I'm not sure of your answer. I am going to bump this up for you though.

Any of the WDW conventions hotels have Buisness Centers avalaible...

Boardwalk (8am-4:30pm daily)
Contemporary (7am-6pm Mon-Fri / 7am-5pm sat-sun)
Coronado Springs (7am-7pm mon-fri / 7am-5pm sat-sun)
Grand Floridian (7am-5pm daily)
Yacht Club (7am-7pm mon-fri / 8am-4pm sat-sun)

These will charge $10 for 15 minute of internet connection.

I have also heard (but can not confirm) from fellow Diser's that the Dolphin has a 24 hour "internet Cafe" type set up where the computers are always avalaible, you just swipe you Credit card for use.

My suggestion though is to go to the front desk of one of the hotels first and ask them if they would be able to print your boarding passes for you. Some of them will do it for you if they are not busy... they just need the airline, confirmation number and one of the names on the reservation. generally they don't ask for your room # or anything like that because they aren't charging you for, so it wouldn't hurt to try, the worst they will do is direct you to the buisness center.

Depending on where offsite--they can use Kinko's ($) or the public library in Celebration (free).

I've seen variations of the question posted often, but could never understand why somebody would want to print their boarding passes in advance. About the only thing I can think of is that they all pack in carry-on's (which I might believe from what I see carried-on) so they otherwise don't have to stop to check-in. Is that the case?

If you are flying SWA, printing your BP's in advance means almost always getting a BP in the "A" group, which is important if you want to be sure to sit next to your school-aged children.

The DVC Board has a thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=694586 which contains the following post:

Greetings!

Just got back from a week at SSR; I'm going to post a trip report, but I have info on this topic. (I started a thread on this a few weeks ago....)

The evening of our last night, DW called the SSR front desk and asked if they would print out Southwest boarding passes for us the next morning. The CM told her no, that we'd have to go to the Y&BC Business Center to do so. I then called the Y&BC BC to 1) make sure this was correct and 2) inquire as to their hours. A nice CM named Terry (Terrie?) said that they'd be glad to, but she thought that all WDW front desks had been cleared to print out boarding passes for guests. We went out to dinner, then DW called the SSR front desk again. The nice CM named Autumn (not the one she'd talked to earlier) at first said no, but when DW quoted Terry, Autumn said she'd "Check with the Operations Team". After a brief wait, Autumn said that there had been a policy change, and that yes, all WDW front desks are allowed to - and have the necessary access to - print out boarding passes for all airlines. She told us that any CM could help us, and that they'd have to use a computer "in the back".

At around 8AM on departure morning, I took the four confirmation printouts and went to the Carriage House - CM Cassandra helped me out. She said "no problem" - I was anticipating having to tell the "policy change" story, but didn't need to. She took the info and went in the back. ONE KEY NOTE: these CMs don't necessarily have experience with your airline's web site - another CM had to help Cassandra find the "print boarding pass" page on the SWA site; in all fairness, it isn't obvious to a newbie, but you might have some hints ready.... But we got the passes ("A", 9-12 for those keeping score).

This is official, at least per several SSR/Y&B BC CMs and the "Operations Team" on 12/11/2004.

Be well!

I know for Air Canada printing your boarding passes beforehand makes a world of difference. Basically, all you have to do is get to the airport and go through express check-in which involves a very short line for putting your luggage on a conveyor belt. So, it doesn't mean that these people pack in only carry-ons. I am always surprised at the number of people who don't know about this. I think you have to be a member of their frequent flyer program but that's free to join anyway.

I was expecting to use the internet kiosks at AKL to check in with SWA (I'd checked with the airline, not printing is no problem, they'd print them when we checked luggage). I was disappointed that the internet "phones" had been removed from the area just off the lobby. Asked about airline check-in at the front desk and they directed me to Coronado Springs. Armed with this new information, I'll push the front desk to do this next time.

The Business Center at CS is open 7-7, seven days a week. For airline check-in they do not charge their usual fee.
