International Dinner & Illuminations Desert Reception

Has anyone here ever attended the Epcot Grand Grand Gathering w/the International Dinner/Dessert? My sister and I are both going w/our families so there are 8 of us, so we qualify! It does sound fun, sampling the different cuisines and having the VIP spot for the fireworks & desserts...but I'd love to hear from anyone that's gone? Is it worth the money/2 table services? Our kids are 4,5, and 7. Will they enjoy it? Thanks! (my 7 year old made me put this dancing banana here).

we did this in 2004 so take this with a grain of salt a lot my have changed.

Im sorry but the food was terrible, our server was great as was the lady who was the mc for want of a better word and at the end there were some special guests that we got to dance with and take photos with.

the desserts tho were great as was the location to watch illuminations (the landing area between the UK and france)

im sure someone else was there more recently than me tho

We attended last January (2009), it was not a good dinner at all, we barely ate because the food was cold. The food is NOT prepared at the oddysea bldg where the dinner occurs, so it must be brought over and reheated in chaffing dishes. If you have little ones who would like dancing with the characters, that was fun. The location for viewing illuminations was great, as well as the desserts. I would not ever do it again because of the horrible food. It is a very expensive evening for a rotten meal. I would suggest booking the good morning gatherining at Tony's in the MK instead.
