I found this information about a patent Universal has as of April 24, 2001 for this new type of ride technology, while working at school. It's kinda confusing to look at it all, but heres the

http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-...rch-bool.html&r=7&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=ft00&s1='Roller+Coasters'&OS=%22Roller+Coasters%22&RS=%22Roller+Coasters%22

I thought this would be perfect on this site. Maybe some people here could shed some light on this new technology. Looks like something that could've tied in with that old Apollo13 ride. The pictures show the vechicle and a roller coaster layout which are must sees. Could this be a new ride for one of the Universal parks

I've been trying to make a link, but I think the address is to long. You guys will have to copy and paste the link in the above post, sorry.

For some reason i cant get the link to work or be able to find it within all of the other patents. Can someone please help, i would really love to see this:)

Ya search for coaster. It is halfway down the list that says amusment park ride.

A little hard to follow but is sure looks and sounds pretty neat. One of the points I saw was a stereo system in each car. Wow, loud music and fast cars. My kind of ride.

When did they make the desicion for MIB? Would the only reason we didn;t see this is because maybe MIB would be a better ride? Or maybe that we might see this ride in the future? Isn't there land in the Expo Center still? Where is there land in universal?

Thats a good question, I would love to find out on how Universal Studios plans on expanding with the limited space available to them. I know there is a space between MIB and BTTF, which is pretty large and could be used for basically anything. But other than that, my only suggestion would be replacement, which is not something many people want to hear.

With limited space, to put something in new, something has got to be taken out. Otherwise, you get something cluttered like Morley's Piers.

Even if this patent is a bit older, maybe they still intend to use it in the upcoming Third Theme park along with many of the other rumored Universal Thrill Rides(ie, Wooden roller coasters, Inverted Stand Up Coasters, etc.)
HAVE FUN

There is land at USF.. What about all the land behind Jaws, West Stunf Show, and MIB extending to Vineland Rd.? There is only a parking lot there that is rarely used for anything.
