I was booking for next February's trip to OKW, and mentioned that DS uses a wheelchair, so we would need either a first floor or the 62, 63, 64 buildings with the elevators. We actually don't need/don't prefer a handicapped room due to the shower seat, but we are fine with them. We went through all the usual MS stuff, then he put me on hold to insure that there would be an appropriate room available. He even used the word "reserve" a room. I was tempted to say-- Really? What building?;) Hmm. Has this happened to anyone else when booking a handicapped room?

They have to call the resort to insure you get a handicapped room. You won't know your room yet but they reserve a handicapped room. They have done it this way every time we call and request handicapped. We always stay in a GV and usually in buildings 62-64. They have another GV in a another building but I don't remember which one. When I made our reservations for May, they called OKW to confirm our handicapped request.

We reserved a room at OKW last month and I had told them DH uses a scooter, so that we'd need ground floor or a building with an elevator. I stressed that we did NOT need a handicapped room though. We were told we'd have a 2bdrm on the ground floor near the hospitality house, although we weren't told what building.
