Interesting Info about Discount Codes...

I just called CRO and tried to get our room-only reservation at All Star Sports changed over to the Disney Visa discount package. The CM informed me that All Star Sports was not showing availability under the package....but, she asked if she could put me on hold while she checks with a supervisor.

I thought....cool, maybe she can get the discount for me even though the computer is not showing availability.

She returned to the line and informed me that the discount was not available at that resort for the days of our stay. Here's the interesting part....she said that they only release the discount on resorts that are under 70% full....and that All Star Sports and Music were both over 70% full....so, no discounts. Pop Century was available....and only a preferred room at All Star Movies was available.

Just wanted to pass on that info. I know many have posted about the possibility that making early reservations may limit the amount of discounts available at a resort. This sorta helps to support that theory.....if the info is accurate.

I posted this on a few of the other discount threads, but I'll post here in case anyone missed it, and it might help you...

My friend's hubby called this morning to apply the discount code to their existing ressie at ASMovies for 1st week of FEB. He was told they were sold out/not available. My friend called this afternoon when she got off work just to double check - she was able to get the discount at that time. So---if you get a "no" the first time, you might want to try calling again.

I called last night and was told the same thing- if we wanted to switch to another resort we could get it, but there was no availability at our resort that we already had reservations for 1-7/1-14. If we weren't traveling with DH's parents we'd consider it, but the FQ is an absolute requirement with a mod.

I'm going to call now and see what they tell me.

Althought I like to think Disney is perfect thier call centers are just like any others. I work in quality for cust service and I hear it all the time. In any call center you have people who just don't know the answer, people who won't bother to look for the answer, some that just don't care period, and some that lie for the fun of it. I get a different answer prob about 30% of the time I call CRO. Anytime I get news, I immediately callback after I hang up and confirm with the next rep. This got me a room at pop century this december when i was told they were sold out and 5 min later had both standard and preffered rooms available.

Thier call volume is often high and i'd hate to see their first call resolution scores but I know that most of the time I'm not getting the most accurate answer so I always double check the info.

Keep trying you never know what might turn up.
