Someone recently posted about their niece's school testing the students' body mass index and sending reports home. This article was in the New York Times today and it was very interesting. The writer notes that the schoolin Pennsylvania is sending home notes about the kids' BMI but they still serve funnel cake in the cafeteria for breakfast. (oh wait, it does say later in the article that they removed the sugar topping from the funnel cake!)
In the article a lot of the parents didn't seem to take the notification too seriously. Some of the kids, however, were real upset about it.
Until I read this article I didn't realize this testing was so widespread.
