Well that would be a hard comparision to make because you would be comparing a VW Bug to a Lexus. Now if you could get the price of the Lexus close to the price of the VW and you consider that a great deal, then you'll certainly understand why renting is very attractive to some folks. You have two choices of view in 1 Bdr Room (No Rack Rate Studio available) at Boardwalk Villa, Preferred View and Standard View. For the dates you want to here's how the points work out:
Checking in Jan 2nd and checking out Jan 9th for a 7 nights stay
BWV Std View = 162 Pts
BWV Prf View = 200 Pts
Using a cost of $10 per point rented your total cost would be:
BWV Std View = $1,620.00
BWV Prf View = $2,000.00
Now it being this close to Jan you might not be able to get a reservation for a Std view so let's just stick with the Prf. view room. Rack rate for this same room for these same dates would be (guessing family of four): $3,200.12
Now if you go with something like the Carribean Beach (not really a VW Bug but you get my meaning) your rack rate cost would be: $1,085.00
Keep in mind that a room at the Carribean Beach is more like a Studio Room at BWV and the points for a Std. View room would be 85 or $850.00. The 1 Bdr. room is more like an apartment with a kitchen to cook in.
Any way this just gives you an idea of the cost and you also might get a better cash deal with
AAA. Just make sure when you do the comparision your comparing apples to apples and oranges to oranges. I would compare a room at CB with a studio at OKW. For the same dates a Studio at OKW would be 80 Pts or $800.00 while as you saw above a CB room for the same dates would be $1.085.00
