Interest for Disney Files on PDF

Would you like to see the Disney Files magazine in PDF or ePub format?

  • Yes, I would like Disney Files on PDF or ePub exclusively to possibly reduce dues.

  • No, I would like to continue to have the printed version only.

  • Both, I would like to continue the print version, AND I would love to have a PDF (or ePub) version!

  • I like the magazine, but I don't have a preference either way.

  • I don't read the magazine anyway.

Hi everyone,

I received an e-reader for Christmas, and I use this exclusively to consume most of my reading. Since it supports pdf files, I was wondering if you think it would be a good idea to request the Disney Files magazine (and maybe other printed materials such as the owner updates) be sent via email in pdf (or ePub) format?

Please let me know your thoughts!

Chris

Many of the DisneyFiles issues are currently available in pdf format on the member website.

Yes, but should it replace the printed version of the magazine? I was thinking about how many would be willing to use an electronic version exclusively, and maybe save on printing and mailing costs for the magazine as it is.

Maybe I worded the poll poorly, since it is seems to be available, but I was looking to go from scratch.

However, if the question and poll is dumb, please just ignore it.

I would download the pdf for use on my laptop vs. using paper and postage versions. But I don't think now is the time to go exclusively electronic. Many people simply don't use computers and e-readers. I think a better choice would be to let individual members opt out of receiving the printed copy. But that would also raise the per copy cost of publishing the paper copy for the members that want them.

I would LOVE it if DVC would allow members to opt out of mailings and receive electronic versions instead. I think they'd save so much on printing and mailing costs if they'd give us the option.

The magazine, booking confirmations, annual planners, etc.

I know there are some people who would still like the mailings. That's why it should be an option for members to chose.

I agree with this. I get all my information online anyway! The printed versions are usually obsolete by the time I get around to looking at them.

I'm fine with an online version. But I doubt if going exclusively online would have much impact on our dues.
