Insurance reimbursement vent....

... my son sees a specialist and we had to get special permission from our insurance company because she is out of network (there are none in the area). Anyway- we pay her and the insurance company reimburses us. I just have to vent here because they take their sweet time! Weeks and weeks and weeks. Right now I have $550 out that I am waiting to get back. And then if they process it wrong, and it has to be resubmitted (which happens about every 3rd time)... it takes them another 6-8 weeks to get that check to us.

I swear they are just trying to wear us down and are hoping we won't submit our bills anymore.

Most things dealing with insurance companies is very frustrating!

This is not unusual. I see a few doctors that are out of network and I have to file myself. I just got paid yesterday for some visits that I had in April. My insurance company only cuts checks once a month. Depending on when my bills "get in the cycle" makes a difference on how fast I get paid. But it is usually 6-8 weeks.

vent away, I feel your pain....We just finished an 8 month battle over a bill that we were getting the run around about. Hang in there.
