Insurance Refundable 4 months out

Hi,

I booked a trip to Disney through AAA then I decided to cancel and rebook through Disney direct with the 35% discount. When I called to cancel my reservation with the AAA agent she said she would need to call Disney to see if the insurance is refundable. Now she is telling me Disney told her my insurance is not refundable. My trip is not until May 2012. I thought I remember Disney telling me on our last trip that the insurance is only non refundable 45 days prior to your trip. Does anyone know how this works ?

Insurance is not refundable, period, no matter what the cancellation timeframe, from everything I have ever heard.

You can ADD insurance any time up to your 45 day window- perhaps that's what you are remembering?

I believe it is refundable as long as you cancel it within 14 days. I know I had to cancel my trip last year 4 days after I made it but I only put down $200 but they added the insurance by accident. But I had to cancel it 4 days later. Best thing is to call. MHO

But after that it is non refundable

Trip insurance coverage is NEVER refundable, which is why I NEVER add it till I am at the 45 day mark.Otherwise if you change anything you lose your insurance money.I cancelled a trip within 7 days and LOST the money on the insurance, I learned my lesson after that

We had Disney insurance also and our trip dates changed. Disney told me that as long as I have not paid my final payment yet, then the insurance can be transferred to the new vacation dates. So you might check to see if the insurance will transfer over to your new trip.
