Insurance and SW booked on points?

Does trip insurance cover SW flights booked on points? So if we are delayed, will the insurance cover those costs even if we paid with points for the flight?

I don't know. But I do know that if you booked with SW points and your flight is cancelled, the points are refunded by SW (as is the few bucks you paid in taxes). Hope that helps

They should pay any costs you incur, yes. They won't reimburse you for the original flight since you're going to get all your points back but if you had to pay out of pocket for a new flight or car rental, that should be covered!

It's going to depend on your insurance policy. If you are using credit card protections they aren't going to pay for a different flight or a rental car for a delay.

I did some reading and the credit card protections are really not all that great. I ended up purchasing a policy with a third party travel insurance company. Fingers crossed we don't need to use it!

Review the policy you purchased now so you know what it will and will not cover.

Nobody here knows anything about what your policy covers as there are tons of different policies out there.
