I think I've seen these...but does anyone have one? Have you used it to take snacks into the parks? What brands are available and about how much do they cost?

Thanks for any info! :D

I have a small insulated diaper bag that we carry into the parks. It holds 6 12 oz. cans with a blue ice on top and a then a few small items. Last time we took the Smucker's PB&J and were able to get 4 of them into the bag along with 5 sodas, a sippy cup, and then we also carried a groc. bag w/ non-perishable snacks. Only one security guard ever said anything to us in 3 trips, and he asked if the sodas were beer LOL! Anyway, I bought this particular diaper bag on clearance at Wal-mart for $5. I am also able to put 4 diapers and a wipes box into the outside pockets of the diaper bag. The brand is Kolcraft. HTH.

I have seen these at Target and Walmart. Eddie Bauer had a real nice one in their store. Sorry, didn't really price them.

herc.

Thanks for the info poober25 and hercamore! The diaper bag sounds like it worked well for you (and what a good deal you got, poober!), but I'm hoping for something I can carry on my back. I will definitely check out Target and Walmart...while the Eddie Bauer one is probably wonderful, it would probably bust my budget, LOL!!

Anyone else have info/experience?

We used a backpack like you are looking last year when we were at Disney and loved it. It was Igloo brand and could be used as a backpack or change the strap and carry it on your shoulder or hand. The top part held dry items (perfect for sunscreen, diapers, snacks, sunglasses, etc.) and in the bottom we put 4 large bottles and they stayed cold the whole day. I got it last year at Big Lots and wanted a new one for our trip in May but thought I would never find it. Luckily Big Lots had it again this year and I think that I paid $4.99 or $5.99 for it.

It saved us so much money with all of the food and drink that it held. If you do not have a Big Lots maybe a store that sells Igloo would have it. Hope you can find one.

Yes, we have a Big Lots!! Thanks so much for the suggestion--I may run over there tonight to check it out! :D

Don't give up on Eddie Bauer if you have a store in the area.

I rarely buy full price from their store. They mark down merchandise down big time (like the Gap) every couple months.

Good luck.

I was at Eddie Bauer yesterday and they had marked the insulated backpack down to $29.99. Hope this info helps!!

We have one of the insulated backpacks, with the insulated part and then a non-insulated part. We used it a few years ago at WDW and it worked very well BUT it was very heavy and we do not take it anymore. We use a regular backpack and wrap our cold things in the ponchos. They stay cold all day.

I appreciate the info...I didn't think about the added weight of an insulated pack, geffric. Thanks for your comments. Wrapping the cold stuff in ponchos actually sounds like a good idea! Hopefully you don't need the ponchos before the food/drinks--LOL!! I still plan on checking out the insulated packs though...perhaps I could get DH to cart it around along with the camera bag! :p
Thanks again, everyone! :D
