I'm a big reader so I have a long list. I'm also eclectic. In no particular order

Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb
J.K. Rowling
Cathy Maxwell
Leslie La Foy
Julie Garwood
Catherine Coulter
Christine Feehan
Elizabeth Lowell
Catherine Anderson
Lysday Sands
MaryJanice Davidson
Bertrice Small

These are my top authors, ones I always have to check out the reviews.

Who do you like?

I automatically buy the new releases from the following authors:

Bernard Cornwell
J.K. Rowling
Douglas preston
Lincoln Child
Maeve Binchy
James Rollins
Neil Gaiman
Jennifer Weiner

There's too many authors to name that I've read everything they've written.

Stephen King mostly. I love going back and rereading his books, they seem like old friends. I like Carl Heissen a lot too.

Terry Pratchett
Jasper Fforde

Susan Elizabeth Phillips
Julia Quinn
Mary Higgins Clark

Sue Grafton
Sara Paretsky
Brad Meltzer
Johnathan Kellerman
Linda Fairstein
Janet Evanovich
Kathy Reichs

Stephen King. I re-read a lot of his books.

Kitty Kelley. Trashy but fun.

Elizabeth Berg
Patricia Cornwell
Suzanne Brockmann
Nora Roberts
Sophie Kinsella
Jodu Picoult
Janr Green
Janet Evanovich
Tess Gerritson

Right now, only JK Rowling for myself and DS! Barbara Parks (Junie B. Jones) to read to my students.

I will buy in spurts, though -- for example, I have Sophie Kinsella's "Shopaholic" books but not her others (go figure). Years ago, it was Sidney Sheldon! I still buy his books, but only when they're in paperback.

Stephen King
Dean Koontz
John Saul
John Sanford
Patrica Cornwell
Fannie Flagg
James Patterson
Christopher Moore
Michael Slade
Elizabeth George

My mom loves the Nevada Barr (sp?) books. My sister is a national park law enforcement officer so I think that my mom can appreciate the subject matter of the books even more.

J.K. Rowling
Patricia Cornwall
Sue Grafton
James Patterson

Sophie Kinsella
Jonathan Kellerman
Mary higgins Clark
Davis Sedaris
Kathy Reichs
Maeve Binchy

These are the authors that I buy almost as soon as a new book comes out:

Nicholas Sparks
Vince Flynn
J.K. Rowling
John Grisham (once the latest is in paperback)

I used to read
Stephen King
John Saul
Dean Koontz

Now I don't have much time anymore, and I read "easy-reading" books, lol
Danielle Steel
Judith Krantz
...

I also read many Disney-books, the ones about the history of Disney, Imagineering, the making of *insert movie*, ...

J.K. Rowling
Francine Rivers
James Herriot

Still love to reread the books I read as a child: Judy Blume, E.B. White, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Beverly Cleary... I read things over and over and over... my DS is the same way!

Over the weekend, at age 4, he started reading (to himself) Ramona the Pest. He is definitely MY child!!

I also love to read cookbooks. Paula Wolfert is my current favorite!

Joanthan Kellerman
James Patterson
Frank Peretti
V.C. Andrews (I reread the old stuff)

Maeve Binchy
Karen Robards
Linda Howard
Carl Hiaasen
Julie Garwood
Cherry Adair
JK Rowling

I read really fast, so I don't buy often. The ones I buy are:

For me:

Tom Clancy
Jean Auel (but she's not prolific, so I can afford her!)

For the kids:
JK Rowling
Kevin MacHale
Cornelia Funke
David Horowitz
Margaret Atwater Rhodes

The kids are hard on books, and they re-read a LOT so I buy more for them than me.

The authors I have to get at the library include:
Jerry Jenkins/Tim LaHaye
Robert Jordan
Anne MacCafferty
Mercedes Lackey (most of the time)
Stephen King
Dean Koontz
Stephen Coontz
Nora Roberts
