I eat because I have to - in order to stay alive.. (And if you could see me, you would know that - I'm 100 lbs. soaking wet..) I consider food a waste of time, a waste of energy, and a waste of money..

Once in awhile I WILL get a yearning for something, but not all that often.. People make fun of me all the time.. If we go out to the donut place in the morning my friend will order a muffin and say, "She'll have some crumbs, if you have any.." When I would get a little bag of cookies from the vending machine at work (which probably had all of 10 quarter-size cookies) they would make fun of me because they lasted all week..

I'm not anorexic or bulemic - I'm just not all that thrilled with food.. I know - I'm "weird".. LOL

So tell me - why do YOU eat?

Because it looks good and to often just because its there.

I need to quit as well because I'm a fatty...LOL! DH came home with Do-nuts of all things...like I can resist do-nuts!

Buy me salad or yogurt DO NOT COME HOME WITH DO-NUTS...LOL!

I'm "weird" with you. There are times that I have to sit and think, "Did I eat dinner?"

Yaay! I'm not alone!! LOL

I think I may be worse though because I sit here saying, "Was it Monday I ate or Tuesday???"

I eat to survive.;) Don't get me wrong, there are many foods that I love, but for me it's really about survival.

So you want to know do I eat to live or live to eat?

It depends on the day, my mood etc. I guess that explains why I'm not huge but not tiny either.

I am a serious stress-eater. After a really bad day at work, I have to chow down on some junk food. I WISH I didn't care much for food. I also eat for entertainment, as a social event. I also eat out of habit and out of boredom.

Of course, I eat to live but you could say I live to eat too. Unfortunately, the live to eat part shows.

I adore cooking and eating great tasting food. Food to me is a pleasure and experience in life. It can be anything from fresh cherries to an elaborate meal bursting with the flavors of spices. It drives me crazy when I hear of friends taking peanut butter with them to Europe so they will have something to eat. WHAT, how can that be possible, no edible food in Europe! Trying new cuisines and tastes is like traveling to a new place.

I grew up in a house filled with cookbooks and parents that, strangely enough, preferred just good old plain food. Nothing fancy for them. I was always looking for the exotic food or something that appeared unusual or spectacular. I now have my own collection of cookbooks from around the world, stacks of Bon Appetit magazines and a food related website.

When we get asked here "what was for dinner" I often have gourmet-type meals that I prepared for myself (except for tonight and the four donuts I downed). So, while others are eating Easy Mac I might have fresh mozzarella appetizer followed by smoked tomato scallops over spinach, brown rice pilaf and a glass of wine.

I eat because I love to!

Out of boredom, times of stress, for social get togethers. I plan a lot around food it seems!

I do really well all day....and at night...pick pick pick!

C. Ann, while I can't claim to be 100 lbs. soaking wet, I have to say I agree with you for the most part. Food doesn't thrill me all that much either - I eat the same thing every day and have for many years. A bagel and grapefruit for breakfast, a salad for lunch, and usually pasta for dinner. People are amazed that I never get sick of having the same thing, but I don't for some reason. I'm just as thrilled with a bowl of cereal as I am a dinner in the finest restaurant. :)

Ah ha! Another cereal fan!! I can't even begin to tell you how often that is my one meal of the day..

Sometimes it makes me a little sad that I feel the way I do about food though.. It seems to be something that many people enjoy so much but - for me it's just a necessary evil.. :(

Oh well - it could be worse.. I could NOT eat AT ALL and then I'd really be in trouble.. I just wish I enjoyed it more - ya know?

Both reasons I guess -

I get the shakes and get incredibly weak if I miss a meal, I have to eat breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner. If I don't, I'm a mess!

I love food too and have been known to have some serious cravings! Tonight we are having dinner with friends and I'm voting for Mexican or Chineese food - that's my craving today :)

Wow, I didn’t know there were people who didn’t care about food! I WISH I had that problem. Unfortunately, eating is one of my great pleasures in life. I’ve always spent way too much time thinking about my next meal and I really wish that wasn’t true. I don’t have a major weight problem, but it’s a constant struggle for me. If I didn’t have to worry about my weight, I’d probably eat all day long. If God just wanted us to eat for sustenance, why did He make have to make things taste so good (especially the things that are bad for us)!?!

I'm like Tamie, if I miss a meal, I get the shakes and headaches. I'm not into fancy foods. I could also live on cereal. My main weakness is chocolate. If it's in the house, it's in my mouth. I have to be strong and not buy it. Going to the grocery store after a meal is my only hope. If I go in hungry, I leave with some form of chocolate.

Usually because I'm hungry.

Sometimes because I *need* to even though I'm not hungry.

Frequently because I need to so that I won't *get* weak.

Sometimes because it actually sounds/smells good. :)

I'm not a huge food fan either since I have so many food allergies or stomach problems. It seems that 80% or more of the stuff I eat ends up giving me a stomach ache of some sort, so that kinda takes the fun out of most food. :(

My weakness -- chocolate chip cookies. Especially the type here at work. Or my mom's homemade spaghetti.
