I have a lot of favorite rooms, but if I had to pick I would say it is the room I am sitting in right now, which is our home office.

It has dark brick red walls (Benjamin Moore Maple Leaf Red), lighter cherry-stained hardwood floors, cherry desk and an entire wall of floor to ceiling cherry bookcases. It has a huge window which takes up most of one wall, so all the dark colors still don't make the room look dark.

On the window I have a cornice covered in a tapestry fabric that is the same red background as the walls, but with a fall-colored leaf pattern. There is also a mossy green wingback chair that is actually a hidden recliner. A small end table that looks like a stack of books sits next to that on one side, and on the other side of the chair is a Tiffany stained glass floor lamp (there is a matching lamp on the desk as well).

On the walls are several large black-framed posters of different scenes in Venice, as well as some family photos.

I absolutely LOVE this room!

I have two favorite rooms. We have a sunroom which is glass. We have trees all around the perimeter of the property so we can sit out there without having a peek at the neighbors. :thumbsup2 It has a blue-ish berber carpet and white wicker furniture with blue cushions, the end tables are painted a soft yellow. Everyone seems drawn here when we're entertaining.

My other favorite is our bedroom. We have an old fashioned ivory print wall paper (the only wallpaper I've kept from the original owner), antique dressers, and an antique white metal bed. The bedding is a white quilt with blue and yellow, and we have an antique trunk at the end of the bed and simple white curtains. It's a very old fashioned looking room and I find it very soothing.

Mine is probably my home office, too. All four walls are painted with Valspar Signature paint in "Linden." The trim is bright white. I have an antique library table with my monitor and a black file rack thing on it. Next to it is a printer stand with the printers and supplies. In a corner is an antique secretary desk that my husband painted for me. He painted a picture right on the front of the lighthouse in the town I grew up in.

Under the window (with curtains I made - white, brown, and the turquoise "Linden" color) is an antique kitchen type table. Both sides fold down, so the top is only about a foot deep. I pull up one side (the other is against the wall/bottom of the window) to do crafts. On the other wall, next to the window is a desk and huge wall cabinet (sort of hutch thing) that was my grandmother's toy cabinet when we were growing up. On either side of those (the cabinet is on top of the desk) are drawered storage units. All painted white. This part of the room is set back, almost cut out of the room. Actually, the closets (which are right next to it) come forward, I guess. Anyway, this is where I keep all my scrapbook and craft stuff and the little containers are done in pink, green, turquoise and white.

The closet doors are painted white. Oh, there is a ceiling fan and Berber carpet. Eventually I will remove the carpet and put in either hardwood or Konnecto. Switch plates and outlet covers are kind of a oiled bronze look. Oh, and there's a puppy laying on the floor behind me. :)

Forgot the pictures - There's a Monet print that my MIL gave us, a framed photo of my boys in front of all the fish outside in Epcot, a framed photo of the lighthouse where I grew up, and a framed print of all the confederate generals (this is my husbands :)).

This bench is painted our wall color, but it looks a little more blue on our walls:

I love my bedroom...easier to use photos, too...

The walls are Behr "Cup of Cocoa;" the window frames are Behr "Cottage White"...the carpet is shades of warm brown, cool brown, ivory, and black mixed together...the furniture had been my grandmother's:

As far as the art, here is what some people call my "cemetery"...the black angels are candleholders:

This one, the top left photo is a cemetery tombstone from here in town; the bottom left is from the St. Francis of Assisi Garden in Boston - I took both photos and matted and framed them; at the bottom right is a mini porcelain mask I bought at the Italy pavilion in WS in Epcot:

Three photos from an old calendar of Paris...ordered the mats online and bought LP album frames from Michaels for $4 each:

The triple frame here holds two Amy Brown fairy notecards and a "Cancer" horoscope card, in which I just liked the artwork. The standing frame on the CD case is a photo of the gargoyles of Notre Dame, again from a calendar:

My favorite room is our bedroom. The walls are Botany Beige. The bed is a cherry rice-carved bed with custom bedding in eggplant/olive green/antique gold with 2 large bedside chests in cherry. I have 12 pillows that were done in coordinating fabrics and crystals and the skirt is in olive green silk. I have 10 ft high windows that have side panels in the olive green silk. I have a sitting area with 2 King Louis chairs done in an antique ivory silk and a cherry tea table. I have 4 pieces of original art by Manuel Nunez. The only "clutter" is the 2 Italian bedside lamps and the artwork so the room is calm and relaxing.

Up here at the lake? My bedroom.. It's all white - most of the furniture is white (it would ALL be white, but I'm no longer allowed to paint per doctors orders) - curtains are white - walls are white.. The "color" comes in with my bedspread (white background with flowers) and a very pretty picture - white frame, beautiful portrait of a rocking chair on a porch with flowers.. It's so nice and comfy, cozy in there.. Wish I could spend all of my time in there..:thumbsup2

ok peeps...all this is nice...but I want pictures :)

lol

My favorite room?? Hmmm. I'd have to say my playroom/office area, but only because its mostly Disney, it's where all of us are most of the time...but its ALWAYS a mess....

Here's an idea of our chaos (although decorated a bit different now) :)

Lucas' nursery wins right now....

Simply because it's the only room in the house completely put together! :rotfl:
We moved when I was 37wks pregnant and I got induced at 39wks.
We never had time to unpack, but because we'd owned the house for 6 months before we finally moved in... and I'd just kept all of the baby stuff here... his room was put together waaay before we moved in.

I keep it clean because DH and I both end up in there at night chatting and it's relaxing to us to have a "salvation" from the oodles of boxes in all the other rooms...

...very nice compared to the utter chaos everywhere else.
