As much as I hate Rush Limbaugh, I didn't even want his medical records made public. It just isn't right telling adults what is best for them; what they can or can't do with their bodies, making judgments about what is addiction, and what is legitimate use for chronic pain patients. If some people become addicts, so be it.

Alcohol is legal and some people become drunks, but the government doesn't keep tabs on them....yet.

Over the last year, I personally have prescribed a host of narcotics and controlled substances, including morphine, oxy-contin, percocet, darvocet, and methadone.

I take care of adolescents and young adults who are in acute neurotrama rehabilitation.

These are people who have been hit by cars, thrown from motorcycles, burned in housefires, and run over by ATV's.

Their multiple fractures and internal injuries require the use of these medications.


In addition, for my more typical pediatric patients, many ADHD medications are also Schedule 2 controlled substances -- which would also be listed on this registry. This includes Ritalin, Concerta, Adderall, Dexedrine.

I tend to think of it as we Dems are always overanalyzing everything, and therefore can never settle on an answer, while the Reps are always oversimplifying things and trying to see everything in black and white...but your comment pretty much says the same thing
