Inspired by "Stocking Thread"..

Presents to each other: Christmas Eve (always a book, pjs, and a little something else)
Presents from Santa: 1st thing Christmas morning
A light breakfast: 2nd thing
Stockings: 3rd thing

Me and DH always used to do stockings first. After we had DS we just kind of open in no particular order. It's whatever he goes to first which is usually the biggest gift

We sneak in and lay DD's stocking on her bed to find when she wakes up. Of course, the way she sleeps we could run in shrieking, throw it on her and slam the door on the way out, and she'd still be sleeping...

ROFLMBO :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Presents then stockings

It's only been for the last 2 or 3 years that I have stopped wrapping the stocking gifts!! Yes, I used to wrap every little thing that went into the stockings, chapstick, magazines, lipstick, etc. I did it for my kids then for my grandchildren when they came along. It would take the little ones sometimes DAYS to unwrap all the small stocking stuff.
Anyway, when my kids got to be adults they started telling me I was crazy to spend so much time on this (and it took alot of time wrapping everything for everyone).
So anyway, long story short ;), we do the stockings after presents just because it used to take sooooooooo loooooonnnnnnng to do the stocking gifts :scared1:

Karen :)

first....then a little break for breakfast....at least to prep it and then eat while opening presents.

LOL- our breakfast is usullay something in the stocking ! Christmas like Easter is a Candy/Cookies junk breakfast eaten while open gifts!

We wrap all stocking gifts too! Love having to open each and every thing!
My daughter opens one of her stockings right as she gets up- then we open up the rest of the gifts (my brother will usually sleep over so he can be here for gifts in the morning!) after all gifts are opened then we all open stockings- my daughter usually has one or 2 more full of junk- grandma usually ends up with at least 2 filled with stuff. We have 4 people and about 8 stockings hanging LOL.

It's up to the kids whether they'd like to do the tree gifts or stocking gifts first, and they always go to their stockings first. Dh and I open our stockings after everything else is opened.

I grew up opening stockings after all the other gifts and really liked it that way. We never had breakfast until all the unwrapping was done, though my parents were always up before us and had their coffee. Dh's family always opened stockings first, had breakfast, and then opened the other gifts. (Santa wrapped gifts in both households.)

We decided to do it dh's way, and now I really like it. Breakfast is not a big meal (or even healthy). We have homemade cinnamon/nut rolls. It does kind of spread the fun out a little longer. I think I'll save a little something for each kid until after dinner this year, too. That sounds like a great idea!

My kids open their stockings before DH and I get up. They usually come in and exitedly tell us it's Christmas, go and look in their stockings, and then bring the stockings into our room, climb onto our bed and show us what they got. :goodvibes

Then we all get up so they can open presents.

Santa fills the stockings, so the little items are wrapped in the "Santa" wrapping paper. Each child gets one present from Santa that's, of course, wrapped in a different paper than we use for "our" presents.

Here we have lunch at 11:00 (DSIL has to leave for work at 2:00), followed by gift opening, then stockings last.

Stockings always first :goodvibes Love it that way keeps the kids occupied while I make breakfast ;)

Well, I don't have kids right now, so the stockings come first. However, with kids the order is Santa gifts (unwrapped), coffee cake and cookies, stockings, wrapped gifts.
