Inspired by Snoopy & The Song Threads...What song reminds you of your first love?

A Hall and Oates song that starts "They met on the dance floor in the old high school gym". No idea what it's called. But my first BF and I met - you guessed it - on the dance floor in the old high school gym...

Ahhhh, that's sweet. I think the song was in the movie "Say Anything"

Did your first love pull the boombox out of the window stunt too? ;)

LOL - Nope :(

My first high school love (when I was 14 and thought I knew what love was) - Crazy for You by Madonna.

My first actual love - Every Rose has it's Thorn by Poison.

"Strawberry Wine" by Deana Carter

Like Strawberry Wine,

First steady -- "Love Is All Around You" by the Trogs. It wasn't a new song then, but he used to play it on the guitar.

But the first time I had it so bad that I can feel pain now just thinking about it, the songs were "I Love You and That's All I Know" by Garfunkel, "Annie's Song" by John Denver and "Danny's Song" by Ann Murray. After we got our college acceptances and were headed to UNC-Chapel Hill, aka Carolina, it was "Carolina in My Mind" by James Taylor. My boyfriend was working at a light pop/country radio station after school, which affected these choices some.

EBB TIDE ......what a wonderful song ......but dang if I can remember who sang it.......

You're So Vain by Carly Simon, he was and the song was popular when I dated him!

Since I fell for you by Lenny Welsh. I still get goose bumps to this day when I hear that.

When you just give love, and never get love,
You'd better let love depart.
I know it's so, and yet I know,
I can't get you out of my heart.

You made me leave my happy home.
You took my love, and now you've gone,
Since I fell for you ...

Love brings such misery and pain.
I guess I'll never be the same,
Since I fell for you ...

Well it's too bad, and it's too sad,
But I'm in love with you ...
You love me, then you snub me.
But what can I do, I'm still in love with you.

Well, I guess I'll never see the light.
I get the blues most every night,
Since I fell for you ...

Since I fell for you.

BTW Pumba, Ebb Tide was sung by the Righteous Brothers.

"Good-bye Yellow Brick Road" by Elton John, back in 1974. Ah, my cute 9th grade "boyfriend" Nate.

"From Hank to Hendrix" by Neil Young. Cindy broke my heart (not any Cindys here on the DIS, I hope!). I sometimes tear up when I hear it in the mall or a restaurant.

"Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" from the movie Mannequin. I forget who sings it though.

Paradise By the Dashboard Light - Meatloaf. Fond memories of a girl from a long time ago.

Beginnings by Chicago.
Still puts a smile on my face when I hear it.

Oh gosh, I have songs that remind me of all of the "loves" I've had!

Here's my list:
Hello, Lionel Richie
I Miss You, Klymaxx
You're the Inspiration, Chicago
I Don't Have the Heart, James Ingram
About You, C&K (a local duo)

Pumba, Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Brothers had a great version of Ebb Tide.
