I used to do this too - especially when they were younger. Now I try to get gas while they're in school. It's so much easier when they're not with me They always want to get out of the car, and younger dd even wants to pump the gas herself - I think not!

And thanks for the explanation! I like knowing the reason behind not getting back in the car. That makes sense.

i live in jersey, so i never get out of my car,,but i do talk on my phone..
but i just r ecently learned how to pump my own gas! i went with my mom somewhere in PA and we got caught in traffic for hours and had to get gas in PA..we had to pump our own gas..neither of us have ever done that ebefore
