Just curious to know whether you town, city, neighborhood has an internet based grocery shopping option. If so, do you use it?

We use freshdirect.com and it's been the best thing ever. All the herbs, vegetables, fruits, etc... have always been perfect. The meats fresh and in vaccum sealed packaging. And every single time, they've been on time. Love them!

Plus, I'm a lazy pig, and this just allows me to support that even more.

My sister has used fresh direct and loves it.

We have peapod (the food comes from Stop and Shop stores) but don't really use it.

Wow! (we live way out in the boonies, so I guess it's not an option) Wish we did have that, I hate going grocery shopping so much, especially during the school year as we usually stop on the way home and they don't have just groceries in the stores any more. I bet I say no more times at the grocery store than I do the entire rest of the week. :rotfl:

We don't have anything where we live now but honestly I don't think I'd use it right now - I enjoy grocery shopping. BUt once we're both working FT and have 2.5 kids it might be a must!

I'd sure use it if I had the option. I guess it's good for me to get away from the computer SOMETIMES, though.

I don't know if there's one around here or not. I wouldn't use it because I actually *like* going grocery shopping!

Can you imagine .... our grocery store offers this service FREE - via internet or fax. Do I use it? NO! Why? I like to choose my own fruit and veggies, I like to look at expiry dates, I like to read ingredient lists on new things ... i.e. I like to be there at the supermarket! Yes, it's a pain, and I never seem to have the time to do it, but I just can't get into the online grocery thing. I guess I'd use it if I were desperate though. It's a great service!

OK, did you read my mind? Because that is exactly what I was going to post!

Grocery shopping drives me insane. The narrow aisles, the mean lady that always pops up in the same aisle as you, nosy neighbors checking out your goods (the food in your cart... not...), that stupid wheel that keeps making your cart pull to the left, the kid at the register that looks at you zombie like when you bid him/her a good day. Bah!

I loves me some internet grocery shopping. Just did it a little while ago during lunch, and everything will be delivered this Sunday night between 5 and 7pm. Woo hoo!

We have PeaPod as well but I've never used it - I too like grocery shopping!

My dad is disabled and the highlight of his week is the PeaPod delivery guy - god help him if he's late!

I hear grocery shopping is more fun if you do it in your boxers.... :confused3 that's just what I heard.

:p

On NO she DID'nt!

Actually, as much as I'd love to shop in my boxers, somehow I don't think I'd want to be close to the frozen food aisle or the meat department. Nope. Chilly enough as it is in sweat pants, mucklucks, scarf, gloves and parka. No way, no how.

Might prove to be a WEE bit embarassing, huh? :cold: ;)

I refuse to bring this thread in that direction because it will result in this post being closed, my personage being banned, and me getting e-smack across the noggin.

I hate grocery shopping and I would use a service like that. I would also like the service to plan the meals and create a list for me. I could elminate items you might already have and add other items like snacks and wine. Then a cute store delivery person could come and cook the meals and clean up after them. And then throw in a load of laundry on his way out.

Well, you have a point about the narrow aisles. But my local Waldbaum's is renovating, and the aisles are wide (in the sections they've finished). So that'll be over.

There, I hope I brought this thread back.
