Ok, so many say that going to a church wedding uninvited is not wrong...how about forcefully joining in a wedding that is held in a public place? (I am not talking about watching from afar)

The other thread reminded me of my DDs diving coach's wedding 2 years ago that was held in a public park at a gazebo by a pond. It is a public place but one woman (in sweatpants and a furry jacket) came right behind the minister and watched the entire ceremony, it really took away from the ambience, to be honest. It would have been one thing if she stood far enough away to be unnoticed, but she was literally 2 feet from the back of the minster. She didn't just stand there either, she moved backand forthto get a good look at everyone in the wedding party, the candle lighting and vows, etc. She was in the way of the photographer the entire time and it was really a distraction.

Unfortunately, she was not the only one who felt the need to 'crash' the wedding, people with dogs on leashes stood in front of wedding guests (blocking their view) etc.. it was unbelievable how rude some people were. (btw, we were all dressed up, it was obvious who was a guest)

I understand it was a public place, but it was obviously an intimate moment, you would think people would try to remain in the background.

Anyone else experience anything similar?

We had a Japanese tour group come into our church right before our wedding (it was a college chapel). I'm not sure if they were there during the ceremony though - I was a little busy to notice! LOL Lots of people were around when we came out of the chapel, it was fun though.

That's horrible! I hope the photographer was able to keep her out of the photo shots. Very rude indeed.

I wouldn't attend a wedding like that either. I might watch from far away, though :)

Reminds me of our nephew's wedding last August on the beach. The wedding video has a guy in speedo walking his dog on the beach. It would have been ok if the guy had walked by 1X, but he constantly passed back and forth along the beach right between the wedding and water. We were just our of reach of the incoming tide and this guy kept walking along the waters edge back and forth right behind the preacher.

This reminds me of my wedding reception. We were married in Gatlinburg TN and afterwards we rented this huge log cabin. As we were coming up the steps in our wedding finery - the "neighbors" came over. They wanted know if they could join the party. Well.......they seemed really friendly so we said Ok.

They brought over about 4 cases of beer and we all had a really great time.:p They still write my husband and me every year.

However, I would be really pissed if I were the bride and groom and the situation that PAW described took place.::yes::
