(Inspired by honeywolf) Would you (or have you) dated people of another race?

I'm thinking back, and yes, I can think of one for sure that was another race. It was just an adolecent fling. I don't remember what race he was though, so I guess it wasn't that important to me.

I think sometimes the ignorance comes from unfamiliarity. For example, in my family (extended) it has never really happened. Let's say it did... I think there would be the regular "talk" that goes with doing something a bit different, but I believe once my family met the person and got to meet them, it wouldn't matter. (Atleast I'd hope so!!)

Neither would I, Jules! Amen, to you, darling. You are amazing!

Well said, Jules. My boys wouldn't be here without it either.

Yes, and I married him 19 years ago. My DH is hispanic and I have three beautiful children. I disagree "Carl" swirls in children are beautiful.

What hurts me deeply is the fact that someone like you would look at my children, two of whom have light skin and one much darker skin, as being different. They have the same mother and the same father. There is no difference at all except the color of their skin.

My kids are proud of their heritage and have friends of all races. They never say my "black" friend, my "hispanic" friend, my "asian" friend. They just say my friend.
