Inspired by FTWFAN: Do you talk about the DIS a lot in your real life?

I might talk about things I heard on the DIS but I don't actually mention the DIS.

Well, yes I talk about the DIS to my family and friends. Sometimes they don't even roll their eyes at me (much).

DH is finally about used to it and he will even make suggestions about questions to ask or things to post. I usually have to tell him someone already thought of that, LOL, but I see it as progress.

My son just laughs at me and suggests I get out of the house more.

My mother is a little jealous sometimes, I think.

I used the term SO before I found the DIS (my husband started that one here) but I caught myself referring to my dh to someone and they looked at me like I needed to be medicated.

Wait, you mean Christine isn't a "a Weirdo/Killer/whack job!" ????

;) :teeth:

Since I've met several DISers, talk on the phone regularly to several others, am romantically involved with someone from here (hi Maggie!), and have spent almost every Saturday night for the past 2 years hosting chat; my family and close non-DIS friends are certainly aware of this place and and are used to me referring to it and the people here a lot. . :) :)

But because I travel and work construction, I do have to watch myself. . . I worry that some day on the job I'll blurt out something like; "I can't believe that DonaldsPixieDustMickey'sMom and her DH didn't renew their AP and paid so much for ASM, and now they are brawling with HappyGooffyTiggersDad on the CB because they couldn't afford to go the MVMCP and HappyGooffyTiggersDad could because they used an illegal code they found on Mousesavers. . but I bet it's really because HappyGooffyTiggersDad's DW hugged DonaldsPixieDustMickey'sMom's DD at DIS Con and spilled her refillable mug. . "

See, that'd be kind of hard to explain to a group of construction workers. . so if someone from that area of my life asks why I'm online so much, I just say I'm downloading porn. .

;)

Yes, I do talk about the DIS in real life, but I don't usually mention names, just discussions or opinions I read.

Yes I talk about friends on the DIS to DH all the time. And I too find myself saying DS and DD, etc.:p

I might talk about things I heard on the DIS but I don't actually mention the DIS.

Same here. I'll mention it at home, because my SO knows I like to spend time here when I am online, but anywhere else, if you say DIS and then try to explain what it is, people look at you like you have just grown a third eye. Somehow the fact that it is a web community where we all like Disney makes them think we are all a bunch of freaks

I talk about it to my friends at work and my family.

The other night when Wagamama and I were battling it out, my eldest son said, "Mom, are you sure she knows you're playing? I don't want her to show up at our door and knock you out."

My DH at first rolled his eyes, but now just laughs at me.

You are my friends. When I have a problem or a question or a vent, I come to all of you. Often I find myself saying "well I asked my disney internet friends" My family thinks I'm crazy I think. But they all like the knowledge I have acquired. And my one friend who went to WDW this year and saved $$$ because of me, believes in my love of the boards.

So to answer the question: YES, ALOT! :)

If it's a living, breathing, body - yup! The poor thing has to listen to me drone on and on about "so and so said" and I found out "such and such"...

Several people have told me I need to "get a life"..

Doesn't this one count?? :(

The DIS gets talked about a lot...
Since I work with Catsrule & DW is here, we pray for people when we are at church and exchanges are always talked about..not to mention the slang...DW, SO, lol...:)
