I'm looking for ideas for fairly simple crafts as Christmas gifts, something I can make at least 20 of.

My friends and I now do Kris Kringle exchanges, but I still like to give each of them something small. I also have about 20 co-workers, so I usually put together little goody bags. I really appreciate home-made gifts, so I thought maybe this year I'd try and make something.

Are any of you working on any Christmas crafts or have any ideas???

I haven't made crafts for Christmas for a very long time. I'll bet lots of our DISers have some good ideas for you, though. I'll just bump this back to page one for you :)

This isn't my idea but my SIL made something really cool last year...

She took a large Ball jar and filled it with potpourri and Christmas lights..she wrapped the christmas lights all around in the jar and around the potpourri. She topped it with just the outer part of the lid that she had put a piece of lace inside so the aroma can come out and the cord of the lights came out of the top.

When you plug it in, it looks very pretty and the low heat from the lights heats up the potpourri and makes it smell yummy too.

If I didn't explain it well enough, just ask and I'll try again. :)

I'm not crafty. One year I bought some matchbook cars and superglued some hooks on them, then took a silver craft pen and put people's names and the year on them. I wasn't surprised when the glue came off.

One of my favorite things to make at Christmas time is to make cookie mix in a jar or brownie mix in the jar. Lots of fun and people always love the out come.

Last year DD made glycerin soaps and I made cross stitch ornaments. We always make big trays of cookies and breads to give away as well.

This year we are making all the wrapping paper, tissue and tags using stamps and plain brown paper and white tissue paper to wrap our presents in but we haven't settled on the gifts. DD is leaning toward weaving potholders and I've been thinking of doing painted terra cotta pots.

I saw a book at Sam's Club titled the Ultimate Craft Book by Disney.

looked like a great book for about $13!

Herc.

Thank you all for the great ideas! I can be crafty, but I'm copycat-crafty, not original-crafty!!!

Herc, thanks for the book recommendation, I will check out my local Sam's Club and see if they have it. If not, I'll be going to Vegas in about 6 weeks and can check out the Sam's there. In fact, I'm going to be in WDW in 3 weeks, so maybe I'll see it there!

;)
