after Christmas called, for shopping, that is??

I've shopped on 'Black Friday' before but, never heard it called that.

I've also shopped the day after Christmas, when I had that day off but, don't recall that day being anything but 'STAY AWAY FROM THE CUSTOMER SERVICE/RETURN/EXCHANGE/REFUND DESK' day.

IS there another 'official' name??

How about "Take it ALL Back Day"?

LOL Kim... I've shopped on Black Friday (but never recalled it being called that until this year) and been out on the day after Christmas too. I have no idea what that one is called, but I like Kitty's idea for it

In Canada we call the day after Christmas, Boxing Day, and here's why:

Boxing Day The day after Christmas. So named because of the British tradition of giving gift boxes to people such as mail carriers, milkmen, etc., on December 26. In Canada, Boxing Day is the date for many huge annual sales.

Snowwark-Boxing day in the US would be getting the empty boxes out to the trash collectors on time! (Thanks for the definition. I never knew the REAL Canadian reason for this)

Actually the official term is that its traditionally the day when stores start showing a profit in the books. Before I thought it was because at the end of the day all retail employees were in a black mood(deservelly so).

We lived in Canada for a year and when we heard Boxing Day was the day after Christmas we thought it meant the day you boxed up all the gifts you did'nt want and took them back to the stores.
