We are coming to wdw in January 2012. If I already have a place to stay close that is paid for.... Is it worth not using that to stay at a Disney property? There are 7 of us, 2 adults & 5 kids. I was hoping to book a package with free dining but, I am not seeing deals for January.

Also wondering if it is cost effective to buy annual passes for both Disneyland & wdw if we plan on going to Disneyland within the year?

I am a Disney visa holder, thanks for any tips!!!!
 
we went to ca for the first time since 1969 and had a lot of fun. california tickets are free of sales tax so you might look into that a little bit. buying out of la
 
It's still a little early yet to see any promotions for January, maybe in Sept? I'm hoping for free dining as well.
I don't think you can use the annual passes at both places, but I could be wrong.
