Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Walt Disney Company (Nasdaq-DIS) announced a $6.9 million deal to update the Innovations attraction at Disneyland. Reached last week the prestigious university plans to work with Disney Imagineers to create three new experiences in Disneylands Innovations attraction. The School of Imagineering will give visitors a glimpse at the process Imagineers go through in designing new rides, shows and attractions at Walt Disney theme parks worldwide. Next will be the Scrooge McDuck School of Operations. This unique experience will allow guests to operate and manage their own simulated Disney attraction. The last addition will be Donald Ducks Department of Linguistics. Using state of the art sound equipment visitors will create their own voice overs altering ones voice to replicate that of many famous Disney characters. A 1/4 scale replica of the universities famous dome complete with a pair of mouse ears will be the center piece once completed. Completion date is expected to be April 1st, 2013. Disney has stated they plan to continue normal operations of Innovations during construction.
