I'm just curious if anyone has used InMotion Pictures airport DVD rental service? I'll be doing it Friday, and wondering what to expect.

I'm flying home on Friday through Monday, and for $45 I rented a 9" DVD player for my trip. It seemed like a decent deal, came with 3 movies, headset, and an extra battery.

I did it several years ago and it worked great. Worked better then my laptop!

We actually did this twice, before I had a portable DVD player.

It worked great. Easy to pickup and drop off.

Watching movies on the plane sure does make the time go by quick.

I have also tried to use a laptop, but the space between the seats is so small that is difficult to have the laptop in a position to see.

Tyler!

Did you end up doing this? How did it work out?

Yes, I did end up doing it. The total for my Friday-Monday rental was around $50 for a 9" screen, which included 3 DVDs, tax, and the optional $1/day insurance.

When I got to the kiosk, most everything was all ready for me. This was where I got a little worried. The guy pulled out the DVD player to verify that it was working, and the battery was charged... he went through FOUR DVD players before he got one working for me. I had reserved an extra battery (free of charge), but I had to remind the guy about it. He seemed a bit annoyed at the request. The other (but very minor) disapointment was that they didn't have one of the movies that I had reserved. So, I made another selection, no big deal. (it comes with one free DVD rental per day)

The DVD player worked flawlessly, and the battery life was excellent (About 3 hours, maybe more if you pushed it). It came with headphones, but I brought my own.

People at the airport were eyeing it, and asking questions about it. When I got back to Orlando, I just dropped it in the 24hr drop box.

Overall, I enjoyed the experience. Would I do it again? Possibly. I could certainly live without it no problem. But it was a nice treat. If I happen to get good airfare, and can afford to splurge for it, then I certainly will.
