Info on effects of xray on film, DVD's, other media??

I'm wondering if anyone knows (or is there a thread) that talks about putting digital cameras, camcorders, and portable DVD players (and DVD's) through the xray machine at the airport. Are there any effects on these items.
Anyone have any suggestions since we'll want to carry all onboard w/us?

No problems with digital camera and media. DVD's also are affected. I can't tell you from experience but you shouldn't have any problems with video tapes either.

I travel all the time with my digital camera and never had a problem. You do need to get film from regular cameras hand inspected though.
