DBF and I will be back at WDW in one month for our fourth visit this year. We are adults with grown children who will be retiring in the next few years and we are contemplating a move to the Orlando area. Is there anyone who would talk to us very briefly about the possibility of future employment with Disney? We're not looking for interviews or anything too specific but we would like to know what the possibilities and procedures might be. Someone told us that there is a Casting Center in DTD. Would they have a brief chat with someone who just dropped in?
DBF is currently a transportation supervisor for a large suburban school district. On previous trips to The World transportation cast members have suggested that he might be a good candidate for employment. I have experience as an elementary teacher and school administrator. We would appreciate it if someone (a cast member perhaps) could guide us on where to make some inquiries.
Thanks for any help you can give.

The casting center is a nice place to visit. I am not sure how much info they can provide.

But I stopped their one summer on our way home from vacation and was able to ask about the college program and they were able to tell me what is involved in applying.

I believe there is a casting website...but I don't know the name of it.

I do know that a college degree and prior experience are not a guarantee that you will not start out at the bottom. As a company, they would like most of their employees to pay their dues.

My cousin works in marketing for Disney and after 2 college programs and a stint at Disneyland paris and her degree, it took a long time for her to get hired in a salaried position. She worked for the Orlando Ballet doing their marketing in the interim while waiting for something to come through.

I should have mentioned that neither DBF nor I have a problem starting at the bottom. Our goals would be to contribute to the organization in some way, learn some new skills and have fun doing it. We have no need to make it big in The World.

If you're wanting info on entry level jobs, the Casting Center near DTD is a great place to stop and ask questions. Yes, they do talk to drop ins.

If you're wanting info on more senior level jobs, they are available on the career website.

If you want to chat about it, PM me. Hubby is a CM.
