Anyone have one? My SO said he'd put up a pool in my mothers back yard - what do you think? Anyone have one? Advantages and disadvantages? Also, where did you get it?

Thanks.

I've had the intex and the aqua quick sets over the last 5 years - they've been great - just have to make sure the ground is level when setting up, keep the chlorine level good, run the filter and change the filters.

I got in mine last night when I got home from work.

Hi I don't usually post but thought I could help you. We have an 18ft inflatable pool that we've had for 2 years. This will probably be our last year with it but only because my boys are really into diving and stuff and they are getting too tall to do that. They are relatively easy to set up but you need 2 people to help just to spread the liner out so that there are no lumps in the bottom. After that you just inflate the ring, put the hose in and let it sit over night as it fills up with water it. We really got lots of use out of it but like I said my boys are 4.5 and 10.5 and while the pool is pretty big, it's just not that deep(about 4 ft). Oh one more thing make sure there is nothing under the pool(sticks, rocks, toys) because you will feel it once the pool is up. Hope this helps you and good luck! Barbara

We got our easy set at Meijer, they have them about any where you could shop. We paid $59 3 years ago. It is 3 foot by 10 foot. They are very easy to put up, just get the wrinkles out of the pool bottom as it fills. We dump in some algecide and keep dd out of it for the night and it is good to go. Our filter doesnt work so good, so Dh uses an old window screen to skim the top off. (Pollen and leaves gather daily)

We've had the easy set (inflatable top) pool and the frame set pool. With the frame set pool, you have more actual room in the pool as the sides don't slope the way they do in the inflatable. Our inflatable pool ended up splitting at the seam because it the yard wasn't level and the there was too much pressure on the seam.

We currently have a 48" frame set pool and are using it for the second year. It's more durable (and more expensive) than the inflatable, but I'm sure you could get a good deal on either kind this time of year. Both kinds are easy to set up.

yesterday after four seasons and one month this summer our pool split its gutts...I got up at six am and looked out and the pool was down flat almost.....and I said.....where did 4000 gallons of water go......called husband at work and he said to look and see if someone slashed it. But the seam has split open and away it went. We spent four hours calling every store in Maine to see if anyone had one......they only had the 18 foot one and it is more then we want to do.......They are easy to maintain and we have had no problems at all. Hope you can find one and keep cool :sunny:

We have an intex spash pool its around 8ft in diameter and 2.5ft deep. Our garden isnt large enough for a bigger one. So far so Good ! The weather in the UK at the moment is actually hot enough for outdoor pools. I have seen solar cover for sal and I am thinking of purchasing one for overnight. We have a heatwave and I'm lovin it!!! :thumbsup2 :sunny: :cool1: :woohoo:

WARNING: It was on the news just a few days ago, that towns have been going around looking for people with these inflatable pools & issuing warnings to take them down within 24 hrs OR install the required fencing. THEY ARE POOLS & need fencing. They demostrated how a child could lean against an improperly inflated pool & the side would collapse in & trapping the child in the water. Consumers were surprised that the boxes say nothing about fencing. HOWEVER, THEY UNDERSTOOD & COMPLIED.

I worked at an insurance agency until recently for 11.5 yr & they had the same concerns on these pools.

So before buying one, you may want to find out your towns requirements. Your thought of a cheap pool alternative may cost alot more if fencing is needed.

We have the 18ft. Intex pool and we love it!! My boys just got out about 5 minutes ago. :teeth: We got ours at Wal-mart. Only takes us about a day and a half to fill it.

Just make sure the ground is level, check and change the filter, and be sure to use shock-it. Also, we have a turtle that holds chlorine tablets. He just floats around in the water.

Oh, and we have a privacy fence in our backyard, so no problem there either. :)
