I'm going to Florida next month with my (then) 7 month old daughter, and we'll be going to Typhoon Lagoon for 1 day. I understand that she won't be able to go on any of the water slides, but can she go in Castaway Creek with me on my lap? Apart from the wave pool, is there anything else that a baby can do there? I'm not expecting much.

The Waves are HUGE at Typhoon Lagoon.. I would be scared to take my baby in there unless I was sitting at the very beginning entrance. There is a place that has a kids zone and little baby slides. I think you should be able to sit the baby on your lap and go on the lazy river though. The area going up to the Crush n Gusher has sand where they could sit and plan in the sand. We took our one year old to Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon last summer and I LOVE Typhoon Lagoon but Blizzard Beach was a little more fun for younger kids.

Oh I know that the waves are HUGE! I wasn't planning to take her any further than the very entrance of the pool.

Last trip my daughter was 11 mths, but not walking. We did a lot of hanging out on the beach playing in the sand. I remember taking her over to the kids area and found a few spots of calm shallow water for her to sit and play in too. We did OK. We also took the full sized stroller and parked it next to our lounge chairs. That way she was still able to take a nap. I used a clothes pin to attach a beach towel over the canopy so she had plenty of shade and also brought a small stroller fan. She had it made in the shade (literally).

PS- Kids meals there are served in a sand bucket with shovel.

Oh- And yes, I took her on the lazy river thing. She just sat in my lap. I'm pretty sure I put her in a life jacket.

For a baby this young, Typhoon Lagoon's kiddie area is much better than Blizzard Beach's. BB's kiddie area is better for pre-schoolers and up. At TL, there are plenty of quiet and shallow spots in the kiddie area.

Have fun!
