Inexpensive souveniers for 60 kindergarteners?

Hi,

There are 60 kindergarteners at my DS's school. They are split into separate classes, but they all play together at recess.

I'd like to bring back a little something for each of them, does anyone have any suggestions?

I'd like to spend no more than $15-20, so I'm thinking that maybe there's something that is sold in multiple packs that I could split up, like pencils or something.

Check around the counters at The Emporium on Main St. They usually have cheap stuff there, pencils etc.

Good luck.

Another good idea is maybe stickers?

There is a pack of crayons (not sure how many but maybe 2 dozen). They are all arranged in a big circle and have Princess heads (maybe there is something more boyish, like Pooh). Maybe you can buy them and have your DS give each child a special crayon from Disney!

Can you do something like cookies or candy and buy a container for each class to share? Not sure how much interaction you have with the other teachers, but I'm sure that they would allow a snack or something along those lines to be brought and shared in school.

Does anywhere where you are going sell seeds? If so, you can buy packets of them, have each child plant a seed at school and watch it grow. When they bring it home to their parents, they will be able to say that you're daughter had gotten the seed from .... and I planted it. That would cost you less then ten dollars.

You could also look for packs of pencils or stickers at Dollar Tree before you leave. No one has to know they didn't officially come from Disney. I've done this before with my daughter's class, and even my daughter was too busy to realize that I didn't get them from Disney.

I January, I picked up 2 packs of pencils, with 8 pencils in each pack (thank goodness there is only 16 kids in my class!) As you go into DTD Marketplace, there is a stationary store on the right. It had the pencils and also big boxes of stickers.

I also found pencils in the store that you see as you leave AK.

Like EsmeraldaX said: Stickers would probably be a good idea.

Usually kids that age love them. I guess check out any packages of items together. You might want to look at Disney Emporium in Downtown Disney. They had a lot of things. We bought the 6 pks of pens that had disney characters on them and gave them out as souveniers, but that might be too expensive for 60 people.

Have fun searching!

I say look for pencils and stickers either at the outlet stores there or before you go at the dollar stores or walmart, etc. That's really sweet of you. If it were me, I'd just get something for my son's class. Actually I hadn't thought about it at all until now. Maybe I'll give him a little moeny and let him pick something inexpensive for each kid at his daycare. (there are just a few)

We have had the CMs at the World of Disney store at DTD give us huge strips of the Mickey stickers that they hand out as you walk in. Just ask for enough for the class, and they are usually more than happy to provide them for you.

Good luck and have fun!

We got strips of stickers like in the previous post.

It was kind of funny b/c we were running around trying to find cast members or stores that had them. We were in the MK trying to make the most out of the little time we had left before they closed and trying to ride Buzz one more time. DH and DS were in line for Buzz and DD and I were looking for the stickers. It all worked out. We got the stickers and rode Buzz and headed over to MGM for Fantasmic. (And made it in plenty of time.):sunny:

we have done 3 things...

1) buy the packets of chocolate coins...wraped with a Disney Character on each one. Each child gets a chocolate coin.

2) pressed pennies.....51 cents each

3) Mickey straws. You can buy them at the food court for 49 cents each.

They sell Mickey pretzels in bags for about $2; 2 would probably do a class for snacks

Also Mickey suckers (for some reason on r e a l l y long sticks) maybe 8 or 10 to a pack, for not very much, a few dollars. My kids loved them and I picked them up at the airport store. They also had gift sets of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate (seasonal?) that I bet you could also find at DTD that would be nice for teacher gifts in a mug for holidays or end-of-school.

If you have a car check the local walmart. They have mickey and friends gummies, suckers etc. There is a whole section of disney stuff to choose from.

I have always done the Mickey plastic straws for my first graders. They love them. The last time that I purchased them they were 25 cents. (2 years ago) I bought them at the CBR food court but I assume they are available at any food court.

When we went to DTD, we went into the stationery store and bought packs of pencils for my DD's class. When we were paying for them, I mentioned that they are for her class and the woman behind the counter asked how many kids? I think at the time there were 16 kids in the class, she gave me enough stickers and bags for each kid! I asked her if I could at least pay for them and she said no.:sunny:

Hi,
I teach kindergarten and just had a student come back from a DW vacation this week. He brought his classmates the free stickers that someone already mentioned and he brought lollipops.
The lollipops were on the long sticks but there were six in a bunch and the price tag was still on the pops -$3.50. A little high for 60 kids.

When my kids were younger we bought DW pens in a package and each classmate received a pen. You could do this with pencils too.

I bought my kiddos small cards at AK one year. The kids who received these playing cards are now in 5th grade and some still bring these cards to school to play card games at recess!

Another year I purchased the Mickey straws and they were a big hit too.
I'm sure you will find the right gift when you get down there
Have a fun vacation!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!

I love these suggestions! With these great ideas, I should have no problem finding some fantastic goodies!

Thanks again!
