Inexpensive London Dining?

I'm taking several students to London in a few weeks. I'm trying to find a few good, inexpensive places to take them to eat. It wouldn't hurt to expose them to a little local culture either. Any suggestions?

Well being staying at the Strand Palace in central London, but we will visit several sites throughout the city.

Get a Let's Go London. It's a budget travel book published
by Harvard Student Press and held up as one of the best
budget guide books. Last time DH and I went to London,
we used it and found some wonderful, cheap, ethnic eateries
in the British Museum/university area as well as SOHO and
Covent Garden. These places come and go but one of the best meals I ever had in my life was in a basement Pakistani restaurant. It required one nearly climb over tables and people to
find a seat. The food was incredible,vegetarian and the meal cost us under $15USD for both of us including drinks. We also found a great pub near the University, smoky but great food! Indian is wonderful in London, don't do the expensive ones. When I was there 2 years ago with some women friends, we had a really fun meal at London's Hard Rock Cafe. Long wait but great music, interesting looking crowd and not too expensive.

My suggestion would be to go cruise the graffiti wall on www.ricksteves.com

Yup, Wagamama is good.

You can find great Indian food all over London, and it's not too expensive.
