we're booking several days at a Disney moderate and then a few at Universal, but need an inexpensive hotel for the night we arrive in Orlando. Plan is to visit Downtown Disney or maybe International Drive that evening. Any suggestions?

i wish i could remember the name of the place we stayed at..but it was super cheap! it was a mile away from disney....and only cost us $36 for the night with taxes. it wasnt a very nice place...but it wasnt too gross that we couldnt stay there...we checked in around 9pm and were leaving for our resort the next morning at 7am so we figured it was good enough!

just google orlando hotels and start calling for prices. thats what we did! hth!

What is the date you need the room? I'll see what I can find on Hotwire and lastminutetravel.

I booked a one night near DTD on Hotwire, the Orlando Vista, for cheap. I wouldn't want to stay there my whole trip, but one night was fine. I've also stayed at the Clarion (used to be Comfort INN LBV) on Palm Parkway (got a great rate from TravelZoo), also at the Extended Stay Deluxe on Palm Parkway (had a certificate for a free night, thought it was pretty nice). Theres a Country Inn & Suites on Apopka-Vineland around the corner from DTD you can get very reasonably. It's across the street from Joe's Crab Shack and Walgreen's.

my sister told me it was called Knights Inn where we stayed...again one night was manageable but i wouldnt stay there more than that
