Inexpensive flights from Illinois

For a family of 3 i have air fare of 500.00 from one place and 700 from another are these good or can i find lower

Spirit and ATA are typically your best bests out of Chicago. We used to fly United and American, too, but they haven't had a competitive rate for a long time. We fly from Chicago to Orlando once or twice a month and stick with ATA because for every three flights, you get a free roundtrip companion ticket. I've seen people post about getting great rates from Southwest, but I've never been able to get one. And ATA assigns seats, unlike Southwest. They fly out of Midway, while Spirit flies out of O'Hare. Spirit makes me nervous because of the limited number of flights vs. ATA in case there is a cancellation.

ATA also flies out of Moline, IL (MLI) on Saturdays only (also return on Saturdays) Depending where you live, and how good a deal you can get, it may be worth looking into. Also, other airports....?

Hi,

I typically fly SWA out of Midway for my travel (anywhere that SWA flies). I have been noticing info about Southeast airline out of Gary for $69 each way. The thing is that they fly into St. Petersburg/Tampa and not MCO. I don't know if that's an option for you but I would look into to it. Also Gary's airport has free parking - which can save you a lot of money if you stay more than a couple of days. I have found that ATA and SWA out of Midway airport have very similar prices. HTH
