Hi all Croc Lovers and Haters,

I need some counsel if you would indulge me a minute...Crocs are made of plastic type material=sweaty feet!

So, is it customary really to invest in good moisture wicking socks to accompany them?

Or do most do the barefoot thing with them and endure the sweaty misery?

Also, without socks I would guess some folks have rashes that develop from the constant moisture...how often does that happen-
I am wondering about Beaches and Aspens.

The issues with these shoes have "jelly shoe" similarities...What were we thinking! :)

Crocs, that is real Crocs and not a knock off, are not made of plastic and are nothing like Jellies.

They feel like they are made from foam, but are more durable. (It's actually a type of resin, I think. Should be on their website.)

That being said, my feet did sweat some in my Beach style, at first. It wasn't horrible though, even though I bought them in June. Not enough to cause a rash. My DS had the same experience as I.

Even now, I sometimes wear socks with them, sometimes I don't. Depends on my mood, but I don't think you need to buy special wicking socks for them.

Heres my 2 cents.

My beach shoes with all the holes - my feet get warm but not icky. My first choice is to wear them with thin cotton socks. Not to warm and very comfy. No rashes or odor ever. Most of last summer I wore them with no socks. I then added socks until the weather got to snowy. Cold was not a problem.

My Aspens - no holes at all. Bought these to wear with socks in the snow. Worked well. My feet get very warm and damp here at work but not so bad I won't wear them. We have floor heat so that makes it worse. I take them off during the day, under my desk, to cool off. No rash or odor with these either.

I am planning on getting a pair of Athen sandals for summer this year.

My feet feel so good in them. No more foot issues for me. That makes it worth the warmth to me :)

They are very different from Jellies. I could never wear them.

Not sweaty.

I can tell you as an owner of 8 pair of Crocs, that in the "holey" styles I have (Beach, Cayman, etc.), I have never encountered sweaty feet. Thus, there is no moisture, no rashes, etc.

They aren't plastic. It was explained to me that they are a closed resin. It makes a huge difference. I only wore socks in the winter when it was very cold. Not to wick moistue away, but to keep my feet warm.

I wore my Crocs daily at WDW in November, and will be taking them in a week when we go back and there won't be any socks in my suitcase.

This is my story, YMMV.
