I know many of you use indoor/outdoor carpet while tent camping, where is the best cheapest place to get it? Thanks in advance!

Not a big fan of indoor/outdoor, because once it gets wet, than sand gets tracked onto it, than you have mud and than one big mess, plus it is a pain to pack after all that. We use a regular RV mat that the water and sand runs through. If yoiu were just using for a one time trip, than I think any home improvement store carries it.

We also use the RV mat.
Everything runs through them.
You just sweep them off and fold them up for the next trip.
Ours even has a storage bag.

Thanks! I'm checking them out now!

What do you guys use for inside the tent?

Inside the tent we used to use a moving blanket. It worked great, since it was padded, packs easily, and you can throw it in the washer when you get home. Plus if you camp where it is a little chilly in the fall, it keeps your feet warm in the morning. Almost forgot, very durable too and the come in different sizes.
Another plus, is that I used to keep it in the back of the SUV to protect the carpet when not camping.

I have used a rug (like those sold at home depot rolled up in the box) for inside my tent and a tarp outside my tent. Now I am using an RV matt I bought at campers world for my camper. They are very nice about letting the dirt and water fall through. Easy to sweep off, fold, put back in the case and light weight to carry.

I found a patio 5 by 7 at Lowes for $20 - clearance priced. It is not what I call indoor outdoor - it is more like the rv type matt, where sand and water would wash through. It doesn't have the fold marks and it doesn't have a storage bag.

I saw some really nice ones at the RV place but they wanted $129. I figure I'll do with my $20 mat for the present. (I have 1983 coleman pop up!)

Online I saw specific stakes for under awning patio mats. Does anyone buy these or does anyone actually stake down the mat to begin with? They were $6+ for six.

We usually have a cooler/frig and chairs on top. It's not going anywhere.

Just what I was thinking!

Thanks!

I do have some leftover ten inch nails from a landscaping project and probably some large washers. So figured if this was a necessity I could improvise.

My pop up is a 'test' to see if I will feel comfortable with an RV type lifestyle in 2 years when retirement rolls around. The pop up itself is in good usable condition for it's age, so not needing much more then cosmetic changes.
