Indoor grill recommendations?

Hi everyone,

I'm seeking your recommendations on an indoor electric grill. I know the George Foreman is a popular one, but I'd like to hear your experiences with some other brands, if possible. Or, if you recommend the George Foreman, why. Thanks for your help!

I had a GF. While I liked it for convenience, I did not like the "steaming" effect of top and bottom. And not using the top, but just the bottom was inefficient and makes an absolute mess.
I then purchased a lg indoor/outdoor GF grill ( lg round). IVe yet to use it and had I not misplaced the receipt I'd return it. Not sure what I was thinking...
We use our Weber outdoor grill for everything now.

I have an All Clad grill pan. It's large, fits over two burners. I use this more often than my outdoor grill.

Mine is the Cuisinart Griddler Grill, GR-4N. It gets hotter than the George Foreman grill that I had. But my GF is one of the older models. I bought my griddler on Woot.

I have a GF that I got on Kohl's on Black Friday for a ridiculous price - I think I paid less than $10 when all was said and done (it was on sale, they had a $10 off anything coupon, plus 30% off, and there was a $10 rebate)

I'm more than happy with it for that price! I use it mostly for grilling chicken breasts when I need them for a salad or something like that.

I think that's probably the biggest thing that GFs have going for them - if you are patient, you can get them cheap.

I must have gotten a dud with my Cuisinart Griddler, it just does not seem to get hot enough. I have to turn it up past high for pancakes and they still aren't nice and brown. The cheese melts all over the place for sandwiches and quesadillas because it takes so long for the bread/tortillas to get crispy. I opened the thread hoping for other suggestions but maybe mine just doesn't work properly.

I also like our Cuisinart Griddler. It can open up flat to give you plenty of grilling space. I find it gets hot enough to put a nice sear on steaks. I have not used the Cuisnart for anything else though.

I would love to find a cast iron grill pan that fits over two electric burners, if anyone has any suggestion...

Don't laugh - but I use my Cuisinart Griddler to make toast. I moved my toaster oven off the counter a couple of months ago when I was hosting a potluck and needed the counter space. One day I had my Griddler out and decided to use it to make toast. It quickly made great toast.

I work at a high-end (mall) kitchen store. We sell a cast iron Lodge pan that will fit over two burners. It is a griddle on one side and reverses to a grill pan on the other. We also sell Le Cruset "skinny grill" pans that are cast iron and will fit over one or two burners (2 sizes). Hope that helps!
