Indirect and Baggage Charges

Thanks a lot Wayne. We just spent a week in Lanzarote in the rain and DH said we could go to Florida in October (we booked for the summer flydrive with virgin but for the prices they are charging for Oct I think I'll just lose my deposit on that one!).

If anyone has booked for an unborn infant before how do you go about it as I'm assuming they need passenger information?

However, when you get to New York, you will first cross passport control, then go to baggage claim, take your luggage through customs, then right before you leave customs, around a corner, is the bag drop off - i always ask the customs guy where the bag drop off is (or one of the guards)..
they always point me in the right direction...
you don't go straight out where the people getting out in new york go..
you usually have to turn a corner, right before where all the people are going out...and around that corner is the baggage drop off..

Thank you for the info. :)

I'm a little confused though- do you have to drop your baggage off again after you have collected it? Just to clarify, I'm stopping in New York, I'm not travelling on to Orlando.

i thought you were traveling on to orlando...

if you're stopping in New York, then you just collect your luggage, go through customs and walk right out the door..

you don't drop your luggage back off...(that's just if you're continuing on to another flight right away)...

once you've cleared customs, you're done....you put your suitcases back onto your trolley (if you rented a trolley), and head right out the door of customs, out to transportation....
there are lots of ways to get from JFK into the city...
my preference is to be met by a town car (just because i'm a spoiled little princess), but you can just go outside and get in line for a taxi...you can ask the dispatcher what the fare should be to wherever it is you're headed...
there's also a group van into the city that's cheaper than a taxi...i can't remember what it's called...the blue van? i'll look it up if you're interested...
