Indianapolis airpot early morning

Our flight leaves at 5:25 am and I was wondering how early I should get to the airport (Indianapolis)? We usually try to arrive two hours before departure, but hoping to cut that time back a bit if the airport wasn't too busy. Anyone thoughts? Thanks!

Are you driving and parking in the long term lot? It can take a while to park and wait for the shuttle at that hour. We always fly out super-early from IND. DH drops us off with the bags and then he goes to park and catch the shuttle back - takes around 15-20 minutes. Check in lines are usually short, unless you end up arriving at the same time as a school group (happened to us once). Security is always a breeze. The longest line you'll encounter will probably be at Starbucks . Still, I would be nervous arriving any later than 4:00, but that's just me.

So happy you posted this...lol we are flying out of ind at the same time!!!! We are staying in Plainfield at a park and fly so we are being shuttled. I called swa and they said the ticket counter opens at 345. We plan on being there around 4:00 or so. Hopefully that's early enough.

A real-time update.....I'm flying out of Indy to Tampa on Southwest this morning. Got to the airport at 4:35. It's now 5:40, and I've checked in, gone through security, bought a paper, bought contact solution and used same, braved the Starbucks line, finished my coffee and should be boarding soon. Love IND!
