Indiana Jones and Rock and Roll Coaster

I am off with DD in 2 weeks 1 day and counting every second. Her favourite ride 2 years ago when she was 4 was Big Thunder Mountain. She's now 6 and I'm wondering how Indiana Jones and Rock and Roll Coaster compare if she's tall enough to ride them.

She's definitely tall enough for Crush and can't wait to ride it, although having read some of the trip reports I'm not too sure I'm going to enjoy it that much.

Any advice on Indiana and R & R?

Also - Fantillusion - where do the stops take place at the moment and where is the best place to view? Can anyone who's been recently advise?

R&R can be quite tough cause you have loud music in your ears during the ride, don't know if a 6 year old would like that one. There's a huge difference between R&R and BTM, but I've seen small children on Indiana Jones and they all seemed to like it!

dd was just tall enough for r and r on this trip - it was her 7th birthday.
she really loved it.

Personally speaking, I preferred R&R to Indiana Jones. I felt much more shaken about in Indiana Jones during the ride whereas, R&R gave, as much as a coaster can do, a smoother ride. The other differences are Indiana Jones is outside, so you may be riding during daylight hours which may of may not be a bonus, R&R is enclosed; the starts are very different - Indiana Jones, similar to BTM, you are very quickly in to a long climb before the coaster gets going, but with R&R . . .

The car accelerates, I believe to 100mph in a matter of seconds and the first thing you do is a loop which you are then through before you have really had time to think about it.

If there are queues, there is more of interest for younger riders at Indiana Jones. I didn't find the music with R&R that imposing and of the two rides, I chose the do R&R a second time, not Indiana Jones, even though I could almost have got straight back on again and I came off R&R with more of a buzz and a bigger grin :

I have ridden both and and RnR is much smoother the IJ Backwards.

I have ridden it seven times a row and have found the back car to give you the fastest ride.

Indiana Jones is not as smooth and it jerks your head from side to side. If you have lots of ear piercings like me it hurts as you bang them on the restraints. It also made me feel travel sick

With regards to the height restrictions for these two rides

R&R Coaster - 1.2m minimum height
Indiana Jones Coaster - 1.4m minimum height (it also states on the Disney website that it is not reccomended for chldren under 8)

This might make the choice for you!!!

My DD (just turned 8) absolutely loves BTM- its her favourite ride and can ride other coasters at other theme parks but has discovered she hates going upside down.
She tried RRC at Easter and hated it (but at least she was brave enough to try it which Im not)
She rode Crush at Summer and didnt really like it that much either- she found it spun about a bit too much - but thought it was more preferable than RRC.

My DD first tried R & R last year in Florida and she was just 5, although very tall for her age. I thought she was too young for it but got out voted and she loves it. I think it is a personal choice although until you try something you won't know whether you like it or not. I did read somewhere that the height restrictions are to reflect the average height for the age i.e 120 cm would be the average height for a 7 year old and that is why they use particular measurements.

I think just from the height restrictions we wil be limited to R&R, so we may give it a whirl.
